ELK is an acronym for Eugenia L Krupnik, Founder and Designer.
Coming from a lineage of tailors, she grew up in a house filled with fabrics and fashion magazines. It was only natural that at age 6, she designed her first dress and started drawing and creating clothes for her dolls.
Fast forward 25 years, Eugenia entered the fashion industry, working for companies like Ralph Lauren, Express, Liz Claiborne, PVH and most recently John Varvatos, just to name a few, specializing in the technical aspects of design. Those experiences gave her a solid foundation, insight and mastery of garment construction, as well as extensive travel to factories all over the world.
Both her daughters follow her footsteps into the Fashion Industry of NYC.
After years of designing and wearing her own clothes, creating a label was a natural next step. Together with her daughters, Marianna and Yana (and their extensive individual experience in the fashion industry in Print & Graphics, Marketing and Sales), ELK NY was launched in 2020.
Owned by women, created for women - a collection of luxurious, artful, silk dresses was born: to give women of different shapes and sizes an amazingly comfortable dress that can be dressed up or down, in an array of prints and colors.
As the company grows and expands, our vision is to dress you in simple and comfortable pieces made of luxury fabrics with flawless construction and original art.
